Weekend Sports Wrap: Thank you linesmen, thank you ball boys, that’s all for winter season 2022!

Northbridge FC
Northbridge’s women have had a stellar 2022. They went 13 games unbeaten, claimed top goal scorer and captured promotion to the top flight in NSW football. Yet, unfortunately the squad has bowed out of the competition with a close 1-0 loss to Hills in the first round of the finals. In an absolute arm wrestle of a match, it took a 88 minute brace by Hills’ Isabella Sciberras to crush the hopes of Bulls fans. There was some consolation however with the under 20s squad dominating Hills 4-0 thanks to goals from Leila Martin, Cate Gyzen, Sasha O’Rourke, Hannah Rose Macri.

Just like that all of the top tier North Shore teams have wrapped up their seasons. The Sun will publish a full winter season wrap in our October edition. It’s been a pleasure following all the sports action over this cold and wet winter, our teams gave us plenty to cheer about. We will also be keeping up with all the summer sports action!
